Tennessee Association of Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors, Inc.

Requirements:

  • Have a desire to work toward a career in the field
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Be a high school graduate or have a GED certificate
  • Have a good math aptitude
  • Pass a drug test
  • Be physically able to work on construction job sites

Apprentices are expected to learn how to do tasks through on the job training and to learn why tasks are performed in specific ways through classroom instruction.


Returning Apprentice Application 

The training requires basic knowledge about tools, safety, technology, codes, legal requirements, etc....which are critical to anyone that works in the trade.

This program is certified by the U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training, and approved by the Veterans Administration under the GI Bill.

Knoxville Apprentice School

The program is open to anyone 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or its equivalent; and a sincere desire to gain more knowledge about the trade.

This is a four year apprenticeship program in which you work in the trade full time while attending school.

The PHCC Apprenticeship Training Program is designed for anyone who would like to expand their knowledge and develop their skills to earn top dollar in their trade. The Program is presented by the Knoxville Association of Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors.

Schedule:
Classes are held at 5:00pm every other week. The classes start in August and end in May.  Please contact Rose Mayfield at 865-531-7422 for the current schedule.

Plumbing- 4 year program
HVAC- 4 year program
Sheet Metal- 4 year program
